DIY "Comet"

As I said yesterday I'm really getting into this whole DIY cleaners, meals, mixes, seasonings, etc. In this economy we really need to save all the money we can! So today along with my Enzyme cleaner (making that this afternoon) I made homemade comet!
Mix 1 Cup Baking Soda for every 1/4 cup Borax
That's it!

After making it I took a break from the kitchen and headed to the bathroom to test it out and...it worked!!!

I bought the sugar shaker from our local Family Dollar store for $1.00.  If you purchase the sugar shaker (it fits in there perfect) make sure you mix in a seperate bowl then put in your shaker.

Happy Cleaning!

A month has gone by since my last post and things have been uber busy, between going back to school, softball games, and keeping up with a toddler I feel like I have no time at all!

We've been using the freezer meal method for a month now and it's been great!! I haven't had to cook a FULL meal in a month. I'm getting ready to do my second round of cooking.  It has saved us quite a bit of money since all we go to the store for is our produce and milk.

I've also been scouring the internet for DIY cleaners, homemade mix recipes, homemade seasonings, and more freezer meals.

Tomorrow I will be making Homemade Citrus Enzyme Cleaner from Homemade Mamas.

Wish me luck!

I absolutely LOVE Pinterest, I get so many ideas there.  I'm redoing my son's room in Toy Story.  I saw these adorable nails ( I don't have the actual link) but here's a picture:
Pinned Image

These inspired me to make my son some letters.  I took out paper and colored pencils and designed a plan. I forgot the picture of the artwork I drew up.  This is before:
Then after:

I can't wait until I get them hung up in his room with his star coat hangers that I painted!

Never Buy Clorox Wipes Again!

I didn't take pictures of me making these, I need to get better at that.  I had ran out of clorox wipes and thought to myself geez it would be so much easier if I could make these myself!  I logged onto Pinterest searched for "Homemade Clorox Wipes" and stumbled upon an awesome blog, One Good Thing by Jillee! Like myself, she was tired of having to pay $4.00 for something you just throw away!

This is her recipe that she got from, Living On A Dime:

1 cup of water
1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol
2 Tbsp. Dawn dish soap (only use Dawn)
2 Tbsp. ammonia (optional)
Stir and pour over cotton cloth ( I used old T Shirts)

I've been using these for 2 weeks now and I really do like them. I have a seperate bin in my laundry room just for them, that way they wont ruin my clothes.
